Data Used for Instruction and Strategic Planning
1. Academic and baptismal data are used to develop ongoing strategic plans which influence instruction and students are intentionally invited to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.
2. Analysis is consistently used to modify ongoing strategic plans to ensure ultimate effectiveness.
Upstate Christian Academy has used both academic and baptismal data to develop school-wide plans for scholastic improvement and for students’ acceptance of Jesus as their personal Savior.
At registration we collect baptismal information on each application. A baptism data base has been developed with this information for the administration and teachers to use. Teachers will use this information and, keeping our Baptismal Plan (Page 14) in mind, find the oportunities to gently but consistently guide children to a closer walk with Jesus.
Our Staff has improved the scholastic learning by analyzing the academic records on a consistent manner to ensure ultimate effectiveness. The following Action Plan has been used to bring this category into the ideal range. The administration and staff have spent time analyzing the ITBS results for each student and the Individualized Development Plan for the areas that are in need of improvement. The IDP creates an opportunity for teachers, parents and students to work together in order to reach mastery. During this year we have updated our IDP form to include the National Stanine Score to give the teachers another evaluation tool.

Recruitment
The school has a written school development, recruitment, and retention plan, with written action plans; and the school board has a yearly systematic method for implementing the following:
• Analyzing enrollment trends
• Recruitment of students who do not attend
• Analyzing satisfaction levels and needs of current students, students who leave, parents, and constituents
• Analysis and implementation of the school’s mission and vision statements takes place annually
• Specific short and long range development, marketing, and retention plans
Upstate Christian Academy put together a recruitment committee that developed promotional materials (EDGE Brochures- as part of the promotions, UCA Brochure, Roger S. Strange Endowment Brochure). These materials were posted and passed out in all four constituent churches. Visitation has also been a strategy in recruiting future students. The administration uses exit surveys (Customer Comments Card) to gauge the satisfaction of parents and students for retention purposes.
Upstate Christian Academy is blessed to have an Endowment for Christian Education. This fund was created to help less fortunate students be able to attend Adventist Schools. The fund also helps meet specific needs for the betterment of our program. The school has also partnered with local businesses to supply additional help. Corporations like Bloom, Publix, Box tops for Education, Campbell and others have been used to bring in extra monetary support. We know that we still have a long way to go in order to get our name out in the community. For this reason we added the following action plan.
ACTION PLAN: The School Board and Administration to develop a public relations committee that develops a plan to promote the school using multi-media web programs like Facebook, Youtube, and others. These outlets have a high potential of viewers and the cost is minimal. We also would like to continue using the promotional items that have been created.
Upstate Christian Academy has an annualy revised School Development Plan (page 2), Recruitment and Retention Plan (page 6) and Marketing Plan (page 10). On these plans we also added Enrollment trends(page 14) and the Baptismal Plan (page 14) with graphics. Each year these plans are reviewed and adjusted according to the need or school's changes.

We have all the items in the ideal category. We recently got a call from a buyer who Googled fresh fruit in Greenville, SC. We had a fresh fruit fundraiser on our website and were able to profit from this encounter. We have also added to our website a survey that parents can fill out at any moment to let us know what they think, or about a problem they may feel needs fixing. This survey is linked to polldaddy.com (a website specialized in computarized surveys, polls, etc.).
